LEVACO sponsores the Innovation-Award of the 2nd International Conference on Cellulose Fibres
Thursday, 11. February 2021
The 2nd International Conference on Cellulose Fibres (for the first time as online conference) granted 25 high-quality presentations with focus on strategies, markets, technologies and sustainability – and in particular on alternative sources for cellulose feedstock to reduce the demand for virgin cellulose.
“The second conference continued the success and presented many new applications and solutions based on cellulose. Even though the corona year 2020 left its traces behind and the growth of previous years could not be continued, the industry is optimistic about the future and expects two-digit growth per year again soon.”, statet Michael Carus, CEO of Nova-Institut and and initiator of the conference. The 190 participants from 22 countries responded well to the new online format of the conference.
Innovation-Award sponsored by LEVACO Chemicals
The event was crowned by top-class innovations, from which the three best were awarded. Ralf Nyhofen from LEVACO had the honor of handing over the innovation award. LEVACO is particularly pleased about the awarding of the following three winners:
First place: Stora Enso (Sweden): Cellulose Foam by Stora Enso – a lightweight cellulose
Second place: Kelheim Fibres (Germany): Fibre solutions for plastic-free absorbent hygiene products
Third place: Metsä Spring (Finland): Textile fibre based on paper-grade pulp
Ralf Nyhofen from LEVACO: “We see a great future for sustainable innovations and are therefore very pleased that these award winners are setting such great examples in the cellulose market. Congratulations!"
